The Dutch Captain Willem de Vlamingh and his crew built the very first documented sighting in the current-day Perth location by Europeans on 10 January 1697.[20] Other Europeans produced subsequent sightings involving this day and 1829, but as in the case from the sighting and observations made by Vlamingh, they adjudged the region inhospitable and
